Wood Packaging Material Penalty

U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) is increasing enforcement and penalty action when a violation occurs on wood packaging material (WPM) treatment requirements. CBP is to issue penalties to responsible parties for each documented WPM violation, which is a change from the previous published threshold of 5 violations.  The new enforcement measure per CBP is to “motivate WPM compliance”.
