The first round of NAFTA renegotiations started on August 16 in Washington, DC with representatives of the three NAFTA countries of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico attending. U.S. President Donald Trump had announced his plans to renegotiate the agreement shortly after his inauguration. Seven rounds of talks will occur over a three week span.
