A public hearing held by the federal government’s interagency Section 301 committee occurred on February 15, where stakeholders commented on the proposed retaliatory tariffs in response to allegations of EU discrimination against U.S. beef exports. Members of the U.S. beef industry urged that the tariffs be put in place, while representatives from confectionary, motorcycle and rayon fiber industries cautioned against the move.
