Ted Poe, chairman of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade, said in a July 11 interview that he and other ranking members of the Subcommittee intend to file legislation to remove China’s Most Favored Nation status. China has had MFN status since 1980, but it was not made permanent until 2001.
