U.S. Customs has issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service CSMS # 18-000048 that commercial trade operations at the Ports of 2101 (Port Arthur), 5301 (Houston Seaport), 5309 (Houston Airports), 5310 (Galveston), 5311 (Freeport), 5506 (Austin), and 5507 (San Antonio) are temporarily suspended for Tuesday, January 16, 2018, due to inclement weather conditions.

The Port of Houston also has issued notice that due to deteriorating weather conditions and ice beginning to form on container handling equipment, the Port closed today at 12pm. Port Notice: http://porthouston.com/
Gulf Winds (a major player in Houston for container drayage, warehousing, trans-loading and transportation) has advised: “Once the Port reopens we expect road conditions to be slow and traffic to be increase significantly in the area. Safety is the top priority for the drivers and we ask for your patience in scheduling delays. The effects of the weather on the supply chain could last for weeks and increased costs may incur due to factors beyond everyone’s control.”
