On April 21, the European Union (EU) and Mexico reached a new agreement on trade, with practically all trade in goods between the EU and Mexico to become duty free, including the agricultural sector. Once in effect, 98 percent of goods traded will immediately have no duties. It is a modernized agreement that broadens the scope of the existing agreement signed in 1997.
