Global Affairs Canada has created a questionnaire for the 20 new TRQs to be established under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Canadian industry is invited to provide input and complete the questionnaire with responses due by August 31. The CPTPP is a multilateral trade agreement signed on March 8, 2018 by Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. As part of the CPTPP, Canada is providing access to imports of various goods in the dairy, poultry and egg sectors, the access will be administered by the creation of the 20 new TRQs.
