The Department of Homeland Security has again waived the 100% scanning requirement on U.S. bound maritime cargo containers for another two years. Per U.S. Customs & Border Protection commissioner Kevin McAleenan, “As currently deployed, conducting 100% scanning with (non-intrusive) systems would create substantial cargo release delays throughout the United States”.
