Under the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) is responsible for establishing if the dumping or subsidizing of imported goods is causing injury to Canadian industry. An injury finding by the CITT provides authority for the Canada Customs (CBSA) to impose anti-dumping or countervailing duty on dumped or subsidized imports. CBSA has updated their SIMA website to now include detail on actual imports from 2014 and 2015. Information provided includes the value for duty, quantities monitored, value for duty subject, quantity subject and SIMA duties.
